What We Believe:

Statement of Faith of Jubilee Bible Camp

Bible:  We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only and plenarily, inspired, written Word of God.  These Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, God breathed, and authoritative.  God’s Word is pure and preserved, and is intended to guide us in all areas of life.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17) (2 Peter 1:20-21)

Trinity:  We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (2 Corinthians 13:14) (1 Peter 1:2)

Father – We believe in God the Father, the Alpha and Omega.  He is all powerful and perfect in holiness, wisdom, and love.  We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.  (Exodus 3:14) (John 3:16-17) (John 4:24) (James 1:17)

Jesus – We believe in the incarnation, death, and bodily resurrection of the Son of God.  Born of a virgin, He is fully God and fully man.  He lived a sinless life on earth in able to provide a substitutionary atonement on behalf of His people. (Isaiah 7:14) (Isaiah 9:6) (John 1:14) (John 8:58) (John 10:30) (Philippians 2:5-11) (Colossians 1:15) (Hebrews 4:14-16)

Holy Spirit – We believe in the personal work of the Holy Spirit in convicting the world of sin and bringing people to faith.  We believe He dwells within every believer and teaches believers God’s truth.  (John 16:13)

Creation:  We believe that God, through Jesus Christ, created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, and that man was created in the image and likeness of God. (Genesis 1:1) (Exodus 20:11) (John 1:1-2)

Sin:  We believe that through Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God.  Man is a sinner by birth and by choice and is unable to save himself or of himself remedy his lost condition.  (Psalm 51:5)  (Romans 3:22-23, 5:12)

We believe that all people are sinners in that they disobey God.  Sin is choosing to go your own way as opposed to being obedient to God. (Isaiah 53:6) (Romans 3:10)

We believe that sin forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into fellowship with God, who is holy.  As sinners, we can’t have fellowship with God.  We are headed for a Christless eternity that the Bible calls Hell.  (Isaiah 59:2) (Romans 3:23)

Salvation:  We believe it is God’s desire that all be saved.  (1 Timothy 2:4)

We believe that salvation is attained by grace through faith in Jesus Christ which is characterized by spiritual repentance. (Acts 4:12) (Eph 2:3-9) (Ephesians 2:13)

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection provides the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe.  Those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and begin a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus.  (John 1:12-13, 14:6) Romans 8:34) (1Corinthians 15:3-4)

Holy Living:  We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word.  The freedom that comes with this assurance,  however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to sin. (Romans 13:13 & 14) (Galatians 5:13) (Titus 2:11-15)

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord and that separation from worldly and sinful pleasures is commanded by God. (Romans 12:1-2) ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5)  (1 John 2:15-17)

We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the life-long covenant union of one natural-born man and one natural-born woman. (Genesis 2:24) (Romans 7:2) (1 Corinthians 7:10)

We will not let the culture or the government define for us what is right or wrong morally;  God’s Word alone does this. We will not condone any activity or behavior that defies God’s Law, even if the law of the land requires us to do so.  We will choose to stand with God and suffer the consequences.
